Game Of Thrones fans, where you at? Don’t you just hate it when your favourite show on earth goes on a break? It gets worse when the new season is just a little more than a month away but you just cannot contain it anymore. But you know what’s the worst? When they drop a trailer which teases you for the remaining days until the season is premiered. The GOT Season 7 trailer is here and it’s all things we expected. Though Season 7 will only have 7 episodes, but they’re all going to be absolutely astounding.
The trailer begins with Queen Cersei (don’t forget the end of Season 6) walking around saying how she has enemies on all four directions. Well, no shit Sherlock. You’ve done some pretty outrageous stuff and earned those enemies by yourself. In the east, Dany’s army has set sail to take over the Iron Throne. In the west, Euron Greyjoy has already stated about his plans to rule. In the north, Jon Snow will avenge all the Starks. Also, Arya has Cersei on her list of people to kill from Season 1. And she’s been a religious follower of the list, which means Cersei’s throat might be slit by Arya soon. In the south, Dorne has always been an enemy to the Lannisters (not Tyrion). Jaime seems like he wants to say “what am I even doing here” because we just see shots of him watching his sister/lover losing it all in this madness.
Dany arrives at Dragonstone, the original seat for House Targaryen and her ancestral home. She sits on the throne at Dragonstone which is cool but not cooler than the Iron Throne, and we know she’s set to seize King’s Landing now. There’s a fire burning inside her which is evident and we know it’s going to be a massive encounter between the two queens. She says, “I was born to rule the Seven Kingdoms, and I will.” You go Dany, but you really don’t know what’s coming for the world. We see her dragons all grown up, flying above her army ready for the battle of their life. Tyrion is seen admiring the beauty of the Dany’s dragons which makes us wonder if he’s a Targaryen too.
Jon Snow may know nothing, but he knows where the real war is. It’s not for the Iron Throne, it’s not between the North and the Queen, it is beyond the wall with the White Walkers who will soon break the wall and come for Westeros. He’s seen that and he knows everything else is just nonsense. There’s fear in his eyes, and that poor man doesn’t even know he’s a Targaryen. Now that R+L=J theory is confirmed, someone needs to tell Jon who his real parents are. He’s not a bastard, he’s Rhaegar Targaryen’s son with Lyanna Stark.
Sansa on the other hand is on some different trip altogether. She’s still hanging around with Littlefinger who’s intentions are not right at all. Either she’s going to defy him and stay faithful to Jon, or give into his venomous words and defy Jon. We really don’t know what’s going to happen to her. We do see Jon beat Littlefinger up at the Crypt of Winterfell. Arya on the other hand is riding a horse, being the badass she is, arriving home to her brother Jon (at least that’s what we hope).
Davos has seen the world beyond the wall too. He knows what’s coming and he seems hellbent on uniting everyone against the White Walkers for a fight that is really important right now. He even mentions that it won’t really matter who’s skeleton sits on the Iron Throne if this war isn’t fought. We see Ellaria and Yara hooking up, and there’s a lot of light to be thrown on that. Is it an alliance? Is it going to end in bloodbath? We really don’t know. Melisandre is seen at Dragonstone. She believes that Jon is the prince that was promised, will she settle for the queen instead?
All these questions will be answered one by one starting July 16th and that’s a date all we fans cannot wait for. Watch the trailer below.
