Friendship isn’t about big gestures anymore. Times have changed. Friendship in 2017 has a new definition. There’s many other ways to express your love for your friends in the modern world that are completely different from earlier. The love’s still there, it’s just shown in different ways. Here’s what friendship is 2017 is like –
1. Meme tagging
By far the most accurate gesture that defines friendships in this world is constant meme tagging. The more frequent two people tag each other in memes, the more real the friendship is. Meme tagging can range from tagging each other in memes that are common to both to absolute rubbish jokes that only two best friends can find funny.
There’s nothing that gets two people together like mutual hate for a third person. That’s how you become the best of friends these days. Hours are spent talking about this third person, silently judging their actions and uploads, laughing at their fashion choices and deriving fun from their misery. Ah, friendship blooms the best here!
Two people who are constantly insulting each other but still stick together is the new definition of best friends. If you don’t insult your best friend on a daily basis and still would die if he/she went without telling you even for an hour, are you even best friends? Insults are what makes the friendship even more better.
4. Food sharing
If someone else took a bite from your food, you would declare World War Three on them. But for friends, that’s allowed. It’s not about saying I love you anymore. It’s about being able to say “take my fries mate, it’ll be fine” when your friend is sad, which is so much more beautiful. If you don’t share food, you’re not friends.
5. 0 social media uploads
The pictures you upload on social media is with people you randomly hangout with. When it comes to having photos with your best friends, you have many. But none of them are supposed to be seen by others. This is when you know a friendship is real. Social media isn’t filled with a lot of pictures, but life is filled with their memories.
