Without a doubt, Queen has to be one of the best bands to exist in rock music history. With the incredible Freddie Mercury as the front man, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, Queen cam up with some of the best songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Another One Bites The Dust, among many others. Once you hear their music, you become a fan.
With Kurt Cobain as the front man, this band from the rock grunge genre made amazing music. Including Dave Grohl as the drummer and Krist Novoselic as the bass guitarist, Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit is still the rebel teenage anthem. Kurt Cobain’s tragic suicide was a huge setback for Nirvana fans, but their short career gave us some incredible music to head bang to.
3. The Smiths
The disband of the Smiths was ugly, but in the short span of time they were together, they made a strong fan base loyal to this day. Front man Morrissey went on to make a solid solo career, but his association with the Smiths cannot for forgotten. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out remains an iconic song by the band, along with some other beautiful tracks.
With brilliant songs like Wonderwall and Stop Crying Your Heart Out, the original Oasis lineup disbanded on an ugly note too. Formed in 1991 in Manchester, Oasis became an instant fan favourite band. With their songs featuring in various movies, their songs range from rock to slow, soothing tunes that you’d want to hear in your car on a long drive.
5. Arctic Monkeys
Another English band of today’s time would be Arctic Monkeys. An indie band with Alex Turner as the front man, Arctic Monkeys has songs ranging from all genres. Their music is the kind that makes you want to groove, and also sit alone with a drink in your hand, contemplating everything. If you’re a girl, you’ll definitely like Alex Turner’s jawline, as that’s what you’ll be focusing on anyway.
Head bang the weekend away.
