Upcoming Movies That We’re Excited For

2016 has been a great year for Bollywood. With some incredible releases this year, us movie buffs had a great time being entertained. And just like they say, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost. November and December 2016 have more in store for us, along with January 2017 that has some much awaited movies scheduled to release. Following are some of the upcoming movies that we’re excited for –

1. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Awaited since 2015 when the film was announced, Karan Johar’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been the talk of the town ever since. With a spectacular star cast, the movie is set to hit the screen this Friday, the 28th. Amidst all the speculation involved with the screening of the movie, it finally has a peaceful release across India. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor’s onscreen chemistry has been garnering positive response, and Anushka Sharma looks gorgeous as always.

2. Dear Zindagi

After the failure of Dilwale at the box office, Shahrukh Khan is back with what looks like a promising movie that will be receiving positive reviews all over. Starring Alia Bhatt, and directed by English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde, two teasers were released last week that gave everyone a feeling that Dear Zindagi is full of positivity. Shahrukh Khan plays the role of a counsellor helping Alia understand the real purpose of life. Releasing on the 25th of November, the movie is surely going to be both critically acclaimed and box office success.

3. Befikre

Anything that has to do with Ranveer Singh becomes an instant sensation, given his huge fan following. And when it’s about seeing him on screen in a motion picture, you know how crazy his fans will get. Starring heartthrob Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor, Befikre is a Yash Raj produced movie releasing in December. Echoing of modern relationships, Befikre is definitely going to be a fresh new take on romance and dating, a genre which is relatively new in Bollywood. After the release of it’s trailer, we do know that it won’t be disappointing.

4. Dangal

Aamir Khan never fails to disappoint his fans. Doing one movie every year, he makes sure that whatever he does is a blockbuster even before its release. Dangal is no less. A trailer that has sparked curiosity and awe in the Bollywood fans, Dangal promises to be another masterpiece by Mr. Perfectionist that’s on its way. A story of a wrestler who fulfills his lifelong dream of winning a gold medal for India through his daughters in a male dominated sport is what the movie is all about. Starring Sakshi Tanwar and fresh new talents, Dangal release on 23rd December.

5. Kaabil

Every 90s girl’s childhood crush is Hrithik Roshan. Those beautiful eyes and the amazing dance moves still make girls go weak in the knees. However, Hrithik’s recent movies have been tanking at the box office. Mohenjodaro was without a doubt a huge blunder. With Kaabil, however, we hope to see Hrithik in a completely new different movie. The teaser of Kaabil was released by him on his Facebook, and by the looks of it, the movie looks intriguing. Releasing on 26th January, we cannot wait for Kaabil to hit the silver screen.

6. Raees

Shahrukh Khan is back with doing serious roles like in Darr and Anjaam with Mahira Khan starrer Raees. The teaser was released earlier this year giving a sneak peak into the much awaited film. Raees marks the debut of Pakistan’s movie star Mahira Khan.  Initially scheduled to release this year on Eid, Raees was postponed for Salman Khan starrer Sultan. Now, it clashes with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil on January 2016.

7. Kahani 2

Sujoy Ghosh is back with the much awaited sequel to Kahani, Kahani 2. Starring Vidya Balan as the lead, the trailer of this flick was revealed just today. It’s going to be a mystery just like its prequel, although the storyline is different here. Arjun Rampal plays a police investigator involved in the mystery that Durga Rani Singh (Vidya’s character) is. Scheduled to release on 25th November clashing with Shahrukh Khan’s Dear Zindagi, we’re all excited to see both the films.
