If you’ve grown up seeing Bollywood, you’re probably not a big fan now. Most Bollywood movies have that same story line with a lot of stupid cliches that we’ve grown to hate. There’s a lot of inappropriate stuff too that aren’t acceptable in reality. But hey, it’s just a movie, right? Here’s what Bollywood has taught us –
1. Stalking is cool
If in real life, someone would take your pictures without your knowledge or try to small talk even when you told them to stay away, life would be hard. Stalking is a totally legit thing to do, if you go by Bollywood movies. Only a few movies have been able to understand the concept of no means no, while maximum of them still show the hero roaming around the heroine even after she said she’s not interested. According to Bollywood, stalking is cool.
2. People always know the steps
The best part about Bollywood movies is that people out of nowhere break into a dance sequence and the passersby usually know the steps to it. They might have all met somewhere for a practice session which is omitted out of the movie due to duration issues. There’s no other logical explanation to this. Don’t try to do it on the street in real life, you’re going to make a huge fool of yourself.
3. Make-up changes your personality
What is your solution to people not liking you, boys not running behind you and everybody thinking that you’re a nerd? You probably wouldn’t care much but if you were straight out of Bollywood, you’d change the way you dress, put on make-up, straighten your hair and voila, everybody loves you. Make-up not only changes the way you look, but also changes your personality. Pretty cool, isn’t it?
4. Kurta-watch cliche
It’s not a true Bollywood movie if the guy’s watch doesn’t get stuck in the girl’s kurti or dupatta or vice versa. When does this even happen in reality? Did you happen to anyone? ANYONE? But Bollywood has taught us to never stop believing in true love, as well as miracles. So maybe it does happen, in a parallel dimension where stupid things generally occur.
5. The ending has to be happy
Like no, seriously no. You’ve got to stop telling lies. Most Bollywood movies end on a happy note which is not true for real life. In reality, there’s no knowing. But thanks to Bollywood, we’ve all grown up believing in these lies. Countless Bollywood movies follow the same story line and when it’s not happy, it’s not the end. Thanks for the lies, Bollywood.
Well life doesn’t work like that, Bollywood.
